Create Lasting Change for Optimum Health and Pure Happiness by using the 80/20 Rule. This rule states that, like most things in life, goals are achieved when 80% of your effort is spent on the psychological portion (mindset, rules, beliefs, etc) and 20% on strategy (diet, exercise, etc). Does this make sense???
Let’s put the 80/20 rule in terms of an iceberg. You know, the huge chunks of ice that float around the ocean. Many of us think of an iceberg as the portion of ice that is above the surface of the water. However, we know that 80%-90% of the iceberg is actually below the surface. This is the foundation of the gigantic mass of ice and without it, there would be no iceberg! It is the most important part of the iceberg and it is the most easily forgotten. This of this portion as your psychology. Remember, people fail to achieve their goals because they don’t spend enough time on changing their behaviors, patterns and identity.
Guess what??? The same hold true when it comes to accomplishing our health, fitness and happiness goals. There are thousands of diets out on the market today and there are just as many workout plans. When it comes down to it, many of the diets will work. Many of the workouts will work as well. So why do so many people fail to achieve their health and fitness goals???
The challenge for most people is consistently sticking with it though the good times (making progress) and the bad (facing plateaus). For them, it is a failure in their psychology, not in their strategy. We trend to put so much effort and emphasis on the diet and workout strategy (the part of the iceberg that we see) that we fail to mentally prepare (the foundation of the iceberg) for the journey.
My point is that we play these various games in life, such as trying to loose weight and take back our natural health and vitality, yet we never establish any rules and therefore we will never win. How are you supposed to win at a game when you have no idea what the rules are? And just think, this is a game that you created. Before you embark on your journey to ultimate health, you must set the rules so you can win!
